Can you sew with embroidery thread?

There are many differences between sewing and embroidery threads.

For example, rayon and polyester embroidery threads are much more lustrous than sewing threads that have a matte finish.

But, you can use these embroidery threads in your sewing machine! They're great for decorative stitching but should not be used for seams.

You could also technically use hand embroidery thread, but this is not ideal nor as effective as using machine embroidery thread.

You can sew with metallic threads.

Or glow-in-the-dark threads.

And even UV color-changing threads.
