How to embroider patches with a machine

1. Hoop Stabilizer

Use heavy-duty wash-away (water-soluble) stabilizer.

2. Set Up Machine

Load hoop into your embroidery machine, set threads, and load the design.

3. Stitch Placement Line

Stitch the first placement line on your stabilizer.

4. Place Base Fabric

Then, place your base fabric on top of the line, and stitch tacking stitch.

5. Trim Fabric and Stitch Patch

Trim and then stitch the patch interior, followed by the final border stitch.

6. Remove Patch

Remove the hoop from the machine and tear out the patch.

7. Adhere Backing

Fuse iron-on backing or finish the backing however you prefer.
