Tips for digitizing photos  for embroidery

I love using my embroidery software to take photographs (like this one of my grandmother's dog) and turn them into embroidery designs.

Even better, my software does most of the work for me!

Here are a few quick tips for the process.

1. Choose a Good Photo

Aim for good contrast; remove backgrounds, if needed!

2. Resize First

Resize the picture to the desired design size before using any PhotoStitch features.

3. Select Reasonable Parameters

Don't choose too few or too many embroidery thread colors.

4. Edit Before Exporting

There will probably be some weird colors or weird stitches, so spot-check and edit before transferring to your embroidery machine!
