Fourth of July and Memorial Day are getting closer over here in the United States!
And, every holiday I make (or update) a roundup of free embroidery designs offered for that time of year.
I think these roundups are great way for embroidery newbies to get to know online digitizers–freebies are how I’ve found most of my favorite websites to later purchase designs from.
Now, with Memorial Day and Fourth of July on the horizon for the United States, let’s get started with where to find free Fourth of July embroidery designs!
Free Fourth of July Machine Embroidery Designs – Websites
I’ve tried linking directly to the page with the patriotic-themed freebies.
However, for some, you may need to perform a simple search to isolate the patriotic, USA, and 4th of July ones.
Of course, things change all the time, so I can’t guarantee the designs will still be available or still be free when you click through.
Also, if you like the quality and type of free designs offered, consider purchasing from these generous digitizers next time you’re looking for new, fun designs–signing up for emails or following along on Facebook are great ways to find coupons and watch for sales!
And, lastly, be careful that you’re downloading designs in the right file format for your machine. For instance, I download .pes designs for my Brother embroidery machine and .jef files for our library’s Janome machine.
1. Bunnycup Embroidery
There are three design sets specifically geared towards patriotic embroidery here!
The first is the Fourth of July set that includes patriotic animals, an Uncle Sam that looks like Santa Claus, and a really cute hanging patriotic heart.
The Stars n Stripes set is a collection of 10 red, white, and blue designs.
And lastly, the patriotic butterfly bears set is very specific, but these flying patriotic bears are really cute and perfect for young kids!
2. Ann the Gran
Ann the Gran has over 75 Fourth of July embroidery machine designs.
There’s a fun patchwork star cluster, a rag doll, and a “USA” Fourth of July embroidery applique design, for example. There is also a patriotic font that’s free, although you’ll have to download each letter as a separate file.
One downfall of this site in terms of freebies is you can only download 3 per week unless you make a purchase or join the club.
3. Embroiderydesigns.com
The freebies page is HERE. You will need to click the category box for Independence Day on the left of the screen to access those specific free designs.
Embroidery Designs has over 7000 freebies in their selection and well as over 100 free Independence Day embroidery machine designs.
Many of them overlap with the free designs you can find on Ann the Gran. This is great because you can download another free 3 designs from here each week! There are especially lots of red, white, and blue designs honoring our military, those serving and who have served!
4. Designs by Juju
This website offers some of the cutest embroidery designs and also frequently offers sales.
This free Veteran’s Day design is a “Land of the Free Because of the Brave” decorative quote.
There is also a red, white, and blue Uncle Sam hat applique with a star on it.
I purchased this fun patriotic table runner from her site and loved making it!
5. Kreations by Kara
Check it out: Kreations by Kara
You’ll need to scroll through each of the yearly tabs and look at the designs from July of each year. 2020’s July 4th design was a pair of aviator sunglasses with the American flag, which is so cute!
6. Royal Present Embroidery
Here’s a cute free Fourth of July embroidery design from Royal Present Embroidery. It’s a set of two designs: a patriotic ribbon and a banner saying “Happy 4th of July.”
If you scroll through their freebies section, you’ll also find several more patriotic-themed designs.
7. Pro Digitizing
Click over to their website, and scroll down mid-page to access the freebies.
At this time, there are 5 free Independence Day designs. I really like the Statue of Liberty that’s covered with the American flag.
While you’re there, make sure to stop and grab the free Father’s Day design, too if you’re reading this post before then!
8. Kreative Kiwi
Kreative Kiwi specializes in in-the-hoop embroidery designs and is one of my all-time favorite sites. In terms of Fourth of July embroidery freebies, there is a set of July 4th coasters that would be fun for a big gathering. Browse around, and you might find some others, too.
9. ABC Embroidery Designs
Freebies: ABC Embroidery Designs
You have to scroll through their freebies section, but you should find several free patriotic embroidery designs. There’s a patriotic patch, beautiful patriotic butterfly, patriotic kitty, and a decorative red, white, and blue heart as well as some free cross-stitch embroidery designs that are patriotic-themed.
10. Apex Embroidery
I’ve never downloaded or stitched designs from here before, but I may try some out soon.
There are lots of freebies available on their freebies page, but you’ll have to browse through to find the patriotic embroidery designs that are currently free.
However, here are a few of my favorites: Iwo Jima flag-raising, flag ribbon, USA flip-flops, and a patriotic heart.
Other Sites to Check Out
- SWAK Embroidery has a ton of freebies, but you’ll have to scroll through the hundreds to find the patriotic ones. A quick browse showed at least 5 on the first several pages, though!
- Creative Fabrica is worth a look also. Their freebies seasonally rotate, so starting a few weeks before the holiday, you can score a good selection of designs!
- Design Bundles also features rotating freebies. Starting around Memorial Day, you’ll likely snag a free patriotic design or two from there.
- Embroidery Affair seems to have not been updated since 2019, but it’s worth a look if you’re searching for designs that feature the different branches of the military. I’ve never downloaded from here before but would love to know your thoughts if you’re familiar with this site.
Happy Independence Day!
